Fried chicken. The Mother Teresa of the south. The Beyonce of soul food. The love of my life.
…okay maybe not the last one. But fried chicken is damn good, obviously, but wanna know what’s even better?
Nashville Hot Chicken.
Listen ya’ll this stuff is GOOD. So good, I’ve eaten it twice a day on more than one occasion (oops). So when I was actually in Nashville over the summer, of course I had to hunt down the best of the best. And let me just tell you. It was fire (literally and figuratively).
Hattie B’s is known for their hot chicken, and if you’re gonna be known for something, it better be good, right? Especially good enough for me to wait in line for over an hour, lord knows I needed this fried chicken.
Hattie B’s offers a fast-casual counter service and seating on a first come, first serve basis. Once you order they will bring it out to you at your table.
You can get your chicken 6 different levels of spiciness and each plate comes with two sides. I stuck to a milder one because I wanted to enjoy it and still have my taste buds after.
THIS WAS THE BEST CHICKEN I’VE EVER HAD.
Am I exaggerating? No. Am I being over the top talking about my love for fried chicken? Maybe a little..
When I say it’s the best I’ve ever had, it’s the best I’ve ever had. Sometimes chicken can tend to get a little dry when over cooked in oil. Especially the white meat. I’m here to tell you, this was the juiciest, crispiest fried chicken of all time, and the added layer of Nashville hot…dream worthy.
Go hungry ya’ll.
