Strawberry Basil Mojitos

Say what?

You read it correctly. Strawberry. Basil. Mojitos.

This recipe came about when I bought, like, 5 lbs of strawberries on sale and I was frankly sick of eating them everyday.

What better way to utilize the strawberries then to put them in booze. I mean come on. This is basically summer in a glass my friends.

I know it’s not your average Mojito, but this twist takes the mojito to a whole new level. And it’s damn good level.

Strawberry Basil Mojitos

Prep Time 10 minutes

  • 12 lime slices
  • 10 basil leaves
  • 10 strawberries, sliced
  • 8 tbsps sugar
  • 8 oz rum
  • 4 cups club soda
  • Ice


  • Place basil leaves and 6 lime slices into a large pitcher or bowl. Use a muddler to crush the basil and lime to release basil oils and lime juice.
  • Add the rest of the lime slices and sugar. Muddle again just to release lime juice.
  • Add sliced strawberries and muddle just until crushed slightly and juices start releasing. 
  • Mix in liquid ingredients. (Do not strain the mixture) Serve over ice. Enjoy!
