Apple Cider Old Fashioned

With the election votes still being counted, this week has felt extremely long and drawn out. Since Tuesday I’ve been obsessivly checking my phone without prevail. Originally I had decided, in order to get me through election night, I needed a cocktail. Since it’s now Friday, and we still have no outcome, I’ve had this cocktail more times than I’d like to admit.. That being said, this sh*t is good ya’ll. I wanted to create something that felt like fall in a glass, but not have it be hot beverage. I didn’t really want mulled wine, or a hot toddy (I have a thing with hot cocktails), but I still wanted it to feel “warm”. While brainstorming, I thought why not create something using up all the apples I have left from the orchard and use up the Instant Pot Spiced Apple Butter I made a few weeks back. Brilliant.

Instant Pot Spiced Apple Butter

Happy Saturday! Cheers to the weekend, am I right? And cheers to apples. I seriously love fall. Also, I’m FINALLY sharing with you some much anticipated apple recipes. Better late than never, right? Plus, I feel like apple butter is a true staple come fall season. It’s versatility is endless. Mixed in cocktails, atop toast, spread on muffins, fillings in cakes, the list goes on and on. When I was creating this recipe I wanted to make something that was simple and easy for people to make at home, while not having the stovetop on all day. Granted, you can definitely make this on the stove, but if you have an instant pot, your life will become a whole lot simpler. Like, I don’t think you are prepared for how simple this recipe is.

Apple Picking and 7 things

Hey guys! I hope everyone had a great weekend! We had a really fun one. We took Oliver to Olbrich Botanical Gardens (he’s obsessed with flowers right now), went on a pizza date as a fam, hit up target, and took Oliver to Eplegaarden, an apple orchard to pick apples and enjoy the beautiful fall weather Wisconsin is having right now. Jam packed, but SO much fun. I figured it had been awhile since I had done a 7 Things post and what better way then to share all these cute apple photos with it 🙂 1. I am eating Smart Sweets right now and I am just obsessed. The whole bag is only 3g of sugar. Plus, they are plant based, vegan AND free from sugar alcohols. Like, a total guilt free way to eat candy. I’m into it. Not to mention these will be great for Oliver when he gets old enough and figures out what candy is. Until then, I will be eating them all.
