Life Update: QUARANTINED

Happy Friday everyone! What a weird place in time we are in right now. Our whole world is shut down. It’s Spring, 60 degrees out, and everyone is ordered to stay at home until MAY. What!? Currently my situation is a lot like most of the world where my job was deemed “non essential” and I’m currently unemployed. At first I was super upset and didn’t know what on earth I was gonna do with myself. But, it didn’t take me long to find the greater good in things.

A Weekend in Door County: FAll 2019

Guy’s, this trip was the best. If you know me you know I love all things fall. And for us Wisco folks, Door county is the “it” place, come September/October. My birthday being in October I decided I finally wanted to pull the trigger and go. I turned the big “25”, which really means a whole lot of nothing. Well besides copious amounts of overthinking what you haven’t done with your life thus far and you can finally rent a car, wahoo! 😛

Mexican Street Corn Chicken Tacos

Tacos are all the rage right now, and I for one am totally okay with it. I’m always in search of some good a** tacos or on the hunt for a killer new recipe to try at home.

Tacos aren’t just for Tuesdays anymore guys.

In my search I stumbled upon these bad boys.

Mexican Street Corn Chicken Tacos.

Um…YUM

Hattie B’s: Nashville, Tennesse

Fried chicken. The Mother Teresa of the south. The Beyonce of soul food. The love of my life.

…okay maybe not the last one. But fried chicken is damn good, obviously, but wanna know what’s even better?

Nashville hot chicken.

Listen ya’ll this stuff is GOOD. So good, I’ve eaten it twice a day on more than one occasion (oops). So when I was actually in Nashville over the summer, of course I had to hunt down the best of the best. And let me just tell you. It was fire (literally and figuratively).

The Perfect Baby Shower

Baby’s coming!

I feel like you’re either a person that super loves baby showers and all the stale games or you’re the person that thinks the games are stale (me) and don’t care for rooms filled with all estrogen.

This is why my shower was perfect for me.

Lemon Sugar Cookies

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve baked. Ok ok, it’s only been four weeks, but being a pastry chef it’s been four weeks too long. I keep finding myself looking through my book of recipes or looking for new ones on the inter webs when I lay my little one down for a nap and I thought as Easter quickly approaches what better recipe to share than these lemon sugar cookies.

My First Month of Motherhood

My sweet baby boy has arrived. He is everything I imagined and even more. You truly don’t know how much you can love until you become a mother. You immediately become protective, intuitive, and selfless over night. In just a month your cute little blob of a human (sorry Ollie Bear) becomes your life.
